ALIX LEBEC

ALIX LEBEC is an entrepreneur and strategic adviser to the business, philanthropic and impact investing communities.

With nearly two decades of experience across Europe, Southeast Asia, East Africa and the U.S., Alix’s expertise is rooted in understanding global poverty and solutions that work, and in advising individuals, corporations, foundations, financial institutions and entrepreneurs on how to achieve their greatest impact through philanthropy, impact investing and ESG.

From the World Bank to the Clinton Global Initiative, Water.org and WaterEquity, Alix developed and led high-performing teams, and helped pioneer and scale global social impact innovations helping women and families living in poverty.

Working closely with Water.org and WaterEquity’s CEO and Co-Founders, Gary White and Matt Damon, Alix helped build and scale both organizations, developing a $200M+ portfolio of highly impactful philanthropic partnerships and investments.

Most recently, Alix founded Lebec Consulting to address fundamental gaps in equality, philanthropy and impact investing. Alix holds a Master of Science in Social Policy from the London School of Economics and a Bachelor of Arts in International Business from the American University of Paris.

Rafia Qureshi has spent 17+ years as a multi-lingual, multi-sector leader in philanthropy and impact investment, with a unique mix of private and public sector experience—ranging from venture capital and management consulting to strategic philanthropy and sustainable finance. 

She has extensive expertise in designing and implementing philanthropic grants and impact investments in emerging markets, and has worked across a range of stakeholders to ensure these investments are catalytic and sustainable, including at development finance institutions such as British International Investment and the World Bank. Rafia spent a majority of her career at JPMorgan Chase, where she jointly oversaw $250 million annually in social investment through the investment bank’s foundation across Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). Most recently, Rafia was the CEO of the Womanity Foundation, a Swiss family foundation focusing on gender equality across emerging markets.   

Rafia has a deep understanding of the intricacies involved in leading diverse foundations. From spearheading organizational development across a corporate foundation to developing strategic direction for private family foundations, she is a seasoned praRafia Qureshing a balance between managing the risk appetite of key staRkeholders and achieving maximum, sustainable impact.

Rafia began her career in venture capital at Dow Jones VentureOne, followed by a start-up venture capital firm investing in digital media and software companies. Rafia holds a Master of Science in Population and Development from the London School of Economics with Merit, and a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and Business Administration (cum laude) from Boston University.

Tara Jafarmadar is the founder and CEO of Baobab, a tool that helps businesses seamlessly develop and manage their ESG strategies. Prior to building Baobab, Tara worked at Google, leading innovative sustainable infrastructure pilots for the company’s real estate organization. She specialized in biodiversity, circularity and water resiliency efforts. During her time at Google, she also worked with company executives in developing and operationalizing their global real estate strategy. Prior to that, she worked as a deployment manager at Google Fiber, leading city-scale build-outs of high-speed internet infrastructure across the mid-western U.S.

Tara is a civil engineer by profession, a LEED Accredited Professional and a certified Project Management Professional (PMP). Tara received her Master’s degree in Engineering for Sustainable Development from the University of Cambridge and her Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Florida International University.

During her free time, Tara leads the mentorship program for Women in Cleantech and Sustainability. She also has a deep passion for sustainability in the built environment and the circular economy. Tara is a OnDeck and StartingBloc Fellow. She is an avid reader, scuba diver and dog mom.
